12 Sci-Fis With Bafflingly Low Rotten Tomatoes Scores

8. Space Jam - 43%

Michael Jordan teaming up with cartoon characters to play basketball against enhanced aliens is such a wild concept, and yet it works so well throughout the course of the film.

Perhaps the goofy set pieces and below average acting of the live-action characters are why Space Jam isn't favored as much by critics, but honestly, who didn't like this movie?

But if you were to read reviews taken when the film came out, it was generally favored by critics (especially well-regarded ones) and I personally remember it being a big hit with kids in the 90's.

The film inhabited two things that were hot for kids; Michael Jordan and Looney Tunes, which combined together created (at least back then) a compelling story that made you cheer for the heroes, and imagine what it it would be like playing five-a-side with Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck.

And were it not for Space Jam, the world wouldn't have got Lola Bunny; admittedly a confusing sex symbol for young boys (sod it, adult men too!), but also a character who has been hailed as a strong female influence for young girls.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
