12 Sequels That Forgot The End Of The Last Movie

9. Honey, I Blew Up The Kid

The Ending

After restoring the children to their normal, everyday sizes at the end of Honey, I Shrunk The Kids, Wayne Szalinski is shown hosting a Thanksgiving dinner with his neighbours (now their good friends) whose centre-piece is a huge turkey that the scientist has clearly zapped up in size for the occasion.

To confirm it wasn't just a huge mutant turkey, family dog Quark is also shown eating an enlarged Alp biscuit.

But Then...

The whole point of the sequel is that Szalinski is working on an inverted version of his shrink ray technology, to make things grow in size. But when the film opens, he's struggling to master the technology and is still at the testing stage (which is how baby Adam ends up being zapped to monstrous size).

So what? Did Szalinski simply forget that he'd already mastered the technology? Was Thanksgiving just a dream? What gives?
