12 Shocking Implications Of 2016 Movies You Totally Missed
1. Magneto Is A Mass Murderer And No One Cares - X-Men: Apocalypse
X-Men: Apocalypse was a disappointing follow-up to franchise high Days Of Future Past, featuring a bloated story with way too much going on. Magneto’s plot this time finds him with a wife and young child, trying desperately to fit in with humanity. When that takes a tragic turn his hatred is renewed, and big bad Apocalypse convinces him to use his powers to tear down cities.
He does this with gusto in the finale, and while the movie doesn’t explicitly show anyone dying, thousands would have easily perished. Still, he has an excuse for committing a hideous act of genocide because he was really sad, and once he snaps out of it everyone forgives him.
He helps rebuild the destroyed X mansion, shares a bit of a laugh with Professor X and then they go their separate ways, never once mentioned the whole “ You destroyed cities and murdered untold numbers of innocent people” thing.
