The sequel trilogy introduced a number of interesting new Force developments and JJ Abrams doubled down on Rian Johnson's focus on the connection between Kylo Ren and Rey by further exploring the idea of "Force Skyping."

Strangely, in The Last Jedi, it seemed like Rey had conquered that bond, which also seemed to be facilitated by Snoke's powers, as if he was the operator between the two. But then as part of the walk-back of Rey's powers in The Rise Of Skywalker, that two-way avenue was reopened and Rey and Kylo were once more able to talk.

The weird, unexplained thing this time out was that the two were able to somehow interact physically, suggesting their projections went beyond the spiritual realm. But how is that even possible? The Force makes all things possible, but given how important the power becomes in the battle against Palpatine, not actually knowing how it worked feels like an oversight.
