Regardless of the sins of the past committed in Hulk's name, Mark Ruffalo's reparatory performance as Bruce Banner and the big green monster has made the character a bankable property again. Fans had always been committed to the idea of the Hulk on screen, even despite Ang Lee and Louis Leterrier's attempts to mishandle the source, and with Hulk set to play a bigger part in Age Of Ultron, hopefully we're going to see his potential realised. The Evidence: The biggest indication that we're going to see stand-alone Hulk movies - and not just singularly - is the fact that Mark Ruffalo has a six-picture contract with the studio. That sort of commitment fits with Kevin Feige's confidence that Hulk can work on his own again. He spoke to MTV:
I dont think theres a lot that we couldnt do someday, as the cinematic universe continues to grow and expand and get as big as the comic book universe. Planet Hulk is a cool story. World War Hulk is a cool story I think there are pitfalls of continuity-overload, and mythology getting so dense that it almost collapses in on itself. It happens every few decades or so in the comics. Apart from that, Id say everything is on the table.
And specifically, it's not just a matter of adopting those key storylines into an ensemble or a future Avengers movie:
Do I think Hulk can carry a movie and be as entertaining as he was in Avengers? I do believe that. I do believe he absolutely could. We certainly are not even going to attempt that until Avengers 2. So theres a lot of time to think about it.
