12 Stupid Mistakes That Somehow Made It Into 2013 Movies

4. Technology Living In The Past - Gravity

Sandra Bullock plays a girl called Ryan. No that's not it. Nor is it that there is literally no way the manoeuvre to thruster their way over to the International Space Station, as if it was just handily next door, and not hurtling through space in an entirely different place and at an entirely different speed. But that is a pretty bold error. The real issue here is that despite the fact that the film is set in the near future, and humanity clearly has the technology for space travel, they apparently decided to use outdated radio systems. Only pre-digital radios make the familiar squealing sound that is the sign of variable frequency sound, and no matter how helpful the sound effect was in building tension, there's no way any self-respecting astronaut would be caught dead with last season's technology.
