12 Stupidest Decisions Made By Characters In X-Men Movies

6. Magneto Sends In The Pawns - The Last Stand

The big Brotherhood vs. X-Men showdown in The Last Stand is a monster spectacle. When Magneto sends his pawns to fight the military runts, tasked with guarding Alcatraz, they inject the mutants with the cure. Their powers are immediately zapped away and they become useless. At the same time, Magneto himself sends Arclight to destroy the plastic cure-loaded guns, but it€™s too late. Wolverine manages to get hold of a clutch of cure darts and with the help of Iceman and Beast they stab them into Magneto€™s chest. What makes zero sense yet again is Magneto€™s fight strategy. Here he is, on the cusp of reigning victorious, and he chooses NOT to engage the most powerful mutant at his disposal; Phoenix. It€™s only after a huge tirade of his henchmen have been attacked, after he has been injected with the cure, that Jean Grey€™s dark side surfaces. Why did he not simply utilise her wrath and wipe out everybody to begin with? Instead she summons her rage much later, destroying troops and the entire surrounding area. Magneto could have waged a much more brutal fight if he had simply riled up Jean.
