12 Talented Actors Who Just Made 3 Bad Movies In A Row

8. Jared Leto

The Joker Jared Leto

This one is bound to be contentious because the middle film in Jared Leto's last three movie releases is Blade Runner 2049 and is fairly well loved in critical circles. It's true that it is a stunning piece of visual art, no question, but the fact that it missed its break-even point of $400m at the box office tells you exactly what you need to know about it. And most importantly what movie-goers thought of it.

The problem with Blade Runner is that while it's pretty, the substance isn't really there. It's soulless, insistent and too strange for its own good and Leto's performance in it is a particular low-point. It's better than both Suicide Squad and the frankly boring The Outsider that bookend it, but it is not a good film by any standard other than those that prefer style over substance.

That's why it's so critically lauded compared to its audience reaction, because that part of the viewing public look for something else.
