12 Terrible CGI Moments In High Budget Movies
10. Venom - Spider-Man 3
If you thought some of the CGI in the new Venom movie was a little rough, remember that it's a major step-up from the character's appearance in Spider-Man 3.
For starters, Venom's design in Sam Raimi's threequel is butt-ugly, too closely resembling a humanoid compared to his bulkier, more grotesquely muscular appearance in the comics (which is something the Tom Hardy movie got absolutely right).
As a pure CGI model Venom looks too sleek and shiny, and when Raimi integrates Topher Grace's face into the mix, it becomes an unintentionally hilarious mess that doesn't remotely do justice to the beloved antagonist.
The moment where Peter (Tobey Maguire) uses his webbing to separate Eddie Brock (Grace) from Venom looked revolting enough in 2007, and over a decade later, it remains a shockingly inept attempt to bring the monster to the big screen.
