12 Terrible CGI Moments In High Budget Movies

8. T'Challa Vs. Killmonger - Black Panther

Black Panther may be one of 2018's best movies and a classic superhero movie in its own right, but even with a first-rate director at the helm and a $210 million budget, the VFX look damn rough at times.

There are a few culprits - the waterfall ledge on Wakanda, the third-act war rhinos - but one especially egregious sequence stands out: the final battle between T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) and Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) in the maglev tunnel.

The vast majority of the fight appears to have been keyframe-animated rather than achieved through performance capture, resulting in the physics feeling ever-so-slightly off, while the overly slick, glossy sheen to the fighters helps it resemble a mid-2000s video game cut-scene.

That the film somehow made the 10-film shortlist for the Best Visual Effects Oscar, over Aquaman no less, is completely absurd.
