12 Things That Must Happen In The Next Batman Film

7. Arkham Asylum

Arkham Asylum is like Northern Iraq in 2015, with ISIS doing their best to make everyone forget that Islam is a peaceful religion and jihad does not equate to physical violence. If you€™re a white Christian, you€™re probably interested in what€™s happening there but if you were forced to go, you€™d have to be shackled and sedated because f*ck that. All fans of Batman love Arkham, because why shouldn€™t we love a holding pen for psychopathic criminals with a tendency for gimmicky mass murder and riddles? We€™ve been to Arkham a few times in live action films, like Batman Begins or that one where Arnold Schwarzenegger has some form of pun-based Tourette€™s, but Arkham Asylum is a character in and of itself that has been suspiciously left out of the live action limelight. You want an amazing Batman film absolutely dripping in atmosphere that not only allows you to include multiple villains but ensure that they are necessary to the plot and Batman is absolutely pushed to his physical and mental limits? Set it in Arkham Asylum and have him run the rogues gallery gauntlet. In a Rorschach-esque €˜I€™m not locked in here with you, you€™re locked in here with me!€™, Batman can be trapped in Arkham Asylum and have to systematically survive through a barrage of bad guys. There can be more than just a cameo and a nod and wink to the audience; each bad guy present will provide a completely different threat. Yes, it€™s the plot of a popular video game but it is also a story-line that has proven effective in the comic books as well. Batman is defined by how far he can be pushed, only to fight back and Arkham Asylum will truly show us just how much punishment the man can take.
