11. There Was A $1million Bounty On Her Book
Before the heights of #metoo’s media coverage, McGowan began writing the memoir Brave, which details her own personal experiences with Weinstein. But before the book was published, which contains explicit details of Weinstein’s crimes, a bounty was placed on the destruction of her 125-page manuscript.
She was essentially number one on Weinstein’s hit-list of adversaries that posed danger to his increasingly vulnerable position.
She even goes on to describe how insanely intense Harvey’s hounding threats were becoming - drones flew right up to her bedroom window, SUVs began to sit out outside her home 24/7, and even her neighbour informed police that she herself was being followed.
