12 Things You Didn't Know About Chloë Grace Moretz

3. She Unsuccessfully Auditioned For A Number Of Major Roles

Something all actors will experience is the crushing nature of rejection; it is a familiar beast that has forever invaded the film industry. With this in mind, Moretz is no stranger to receiving bad news either, but you might be surprised to hear some of the roles she was originally shortlisted for. The actress was set to star as Lillith in the Renée Zellweger horror-thriller Case 39 (2009), however the role went to Jodelle Ferland. She was also at the top of the consideration list to play District 12 heroine Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games (2012 - 2015) franchise before the role went to Jennifer Lawrence. Others upon such list included Shailene Woodley, Kaya Scodelario, Saoirse Ronan and Emma Roberts. Fittingly, a number of these actresses are now attached to similar dystopian franchises, including Moretz who as noted in the introduction, stars in The 5th Wave early next year.
