Perhaps the most discomforting sequence in the entire film sees Le Chiffre performing a unique brand of torture on 007 by cutting a hole in the bottom of a chair, forcing Bond to sit naked in it, and then hitting Bond in the knackers with a knotted piece of rope.

It's probably the ultimate torture you could mete out on Bond, really, and as wince-inducing the scene is, its best moment arrives when 007 drops the immortal one-liner, "Now the whole world's gonna know you died scratching my balls."

Craig plays the scene perfectly with a brilliant anguished amusement, and the fact that Bond's saved not by himself but Mr. White (Jesper Christensen) is just the icing on the cake, really.
