12 Things You Learn Rewatching Licence To Kill
8. The Title Song Is Criminally Underrated
Gladys Knight's title song is rarely mentioned when discussing the best ever Bond title tracks, but it is nevertheless a quintessentially 80s tune that makes fantastic use of Knight's razor-sharp vocals.
It's often criticised for feeling like a warmed-over Shirley Bassey rehash and for failing to fit the tone of the actual movie it was made for, but it's got a marvellously moody build and is surely one of the catchier Bond songs of its era.
While it doesn't rank among the series' very best musical efforts, it's never quite received the credit it deserves, and is certainly one of the most under-appreciated belters in 007's back catalogue.
