12. George Lazenby's Performance Is Criminally Underrated
Though the overwhelming consensus among Bond fans is that George Lazenby's single performance as James Bond is the worst of the bunch, the vitriol directed towards his turn as 007 feels wholly unearned today.
Sure, the fact he only ever played Bond once worked hugely against him as fans weren't able to get familiar with him, and following Sean Connery's lead is a thankless task. On his own merits, though, he did a totally rock solid, underrated job as the iconic spy.
For starters, Lazenby's the only Bond actor to date to score a Golden Globe nomination for his performance, bringing an added cerebral dimension to the character that the frothier Connery iteration never really had.
While we'll never know how Lazenby would be regarded if he'd stuck with the role for at least two or three movies, half a century later his single performance is magnetically charming if naturally lacking the iconic appeal of every other Bond performer.
