Yes, this is the ultimate Bond movie not in a hurry to tell its story. So relaxed is the pace, at one point Bond even sits down to read an issue of Playboy for a minute or two.

Clocking in at a meaty 140 minutes, OHMSS is one of the longest Bond films to date, and while the first half of the film doesn't feature much in the way of elaborate action sequences, the drama is generally still beguiling and involving enough.

Sure, a few moments could certainly be trimmed and tightened up - Bond's trip to the Swiss lawyer's office feels especially bloated - but because act three delivers some truly landmark action for the series (more on that later), it's easy to appreciate Hunt's attempt to deliver a more deliberate Bond film.
