Though Diamonds Are Forever is the soul-draining low-point for the Bond franchise, The Man with the Golden Gun is also a staggeringly boring film at times.

Every minute Christopher Lee's off screen - and it's a depressing amount - is to the film's detriment, the pacing is sluggish, there's a ton of bloat and filler, and the abundance of annoying and stupid characters sure doesn't help.

Messy though Moore's prior outing, Live and Let Die, was, at least it was weird and interesting, whereas for the most part this is a hokey slog that's too content to dispassionately rehash the series' most well-worn tropes.
