12 Things You Learn Rewatching The World Is Not Enough
11. The X-Ray Glasses Are Bond's Creepiest Gadget Ever
At the beginning of the second act, we see Bond head to Valentin's (Robbie Coltrane) casino to track down those attempting to kill Elektra.
This leads to him wearing a goofy pair of blue-tinted X-ray glasses, which 007 uses to not only deduce who is strapped with guns, but also do some not-so-subtle perving of the lingerie-clad ladies in the vicinity.
Considering that the first two Brosnan movies actually towed the line pretty well by scaling-back the spy's lecherous behaviour, this felt a little out-of-place and, more to the point, embarrassing.
It sure didn't help that 007 was forced to wear such a ridiculous-looking pair of specs, and the glasses suspiciously only showed women in their underwear. Hmmm.
