12 Times DCEU Movies Completely Changed The Comics

1. Superman's Resurrection - Justice League

Lex Luthor DCEU

The DCEU Superman's death may have been a narratively rushed affair that was bereft of the emotion and proper build-up found in the comic book iteration, but it was an impactful event that led to the formation of the Suicide Squad, the invasion of Earth by the Apokoliptan army and the subsequent formation of the Justice League.

Both versions of the character died at the hands of Doomsday after a long and destructive battle and they were revealed to be in near-death states that required an external boost to further hasten the regenerative process. The comics Superman was brought back to life by the Eradicator, one of four copycat Supermen that emerged in the wake of his death to fight another Superman copycat, Hank Henshaw/the Cyborg Superman.

The DCEU version involved fewer copycats and more Justice League members, with the fledgling team desperate to have more firepower in the battle against Steppenwolf and the Parademon army.

The Man of Steel was brought back to life using a mix of supercharged Kryptonian tech and the Apokoliptan Mother Box but the process was overwhelming for the hero's mind and in his delirious state attacked the Justice League before coming to his senses and later joining the team.
