1. That Time He Couldn't Solve The Riddle
Speak Friend And Enter, it read above the Doors of Durin. "Oh well, it's quite simple. If you are a friend you speak the password, and the doors will open" quipped Gandalf. Nope. No, totally wrong password there, oh wise wizard. Holding up your arms and your staff in a dramatic manner just isn't opening the West-Gate this time (nor is taking out your frustration like a petulant child on a curious Pippin who just wants to know what plan B is). Frodo finally figures the riddle out - that the Elvish word for friend is 'mellon - and thank goodness, because you might have been waiting outside all night while Gandalf was trying to get his sh*t together. I love Stephen King and music festivals; I eat my toast upside down; I daydream about getting married probably a bit too much; and I wish every day for a pet sausage dog puppy (who never materialises – sob).
