12 Trippy Freak Out Film Scenes That Will Melt Your Mind

11. Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans

cagebad It takes something truly crazy to upstage Nicolas Cage. His Terence McDonagh is a corrupt cop with a cocaine addiction, a man whose definition of interrogation involves pulling a gun on an old lady and calling her the c-word. But, during a climactic shoot-out at gang leader Big Fate's (Xzibit) house, there is a sight so ridiculous that it leaves a goofy grin across his face (see above). Having witnessed the death of a rival gangster, McDonagh orders Big Fate's men to ''hoot him again''. Understandably confused, one of them turns to him and asks why. ''Shoot him again,'' repeats McDonagh,''His soul is still dancing.'' For next to the man's lifeless body is another, dressed in the same red jacket. Yet this one seems far more energetic; in fact he's breakdancing. After a second round of bullets, he too falls to the floor. Is this really happening or is it all in McDonagh's mind? Nobody else seems to acknowledge what's going on, not even when an iguana suddenly crawls into shot. Oh yeah, McDonagh keeps having these visions of iguanas. Did I not mention that?
