10. Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare
Continuing our run of long-winded film titles, we observe one of the golden rules for ensuring your survival in a horror movie: Don't do drugs. And so from the very second we see troubled teen Spencer (Breckin Meyer) light his first joint, we know that the clock is ticking... One night, after smoking weed and falling asleep on the sofa, he looks up to find Johnny Depp on his TV screen. Nothing unusual in that, you may think, but for the fact that Depp's character, Glen Lantz, had already come to an unfeasibly bloody end in A Nightmare On Elm Street. But nevertheless he's back to deliver an urgent message. ''This,'' he says, holding an egg aloft, ''is your brain.'' Choosing to appear in a parody of those 80's anti-drug commercials seems to be the only way to catch Spencer's attention. But it has caught someone else's eye, too. ''Hey, Spence'', lures Freddy, ''Let's trip out.''After all, which stoner can resist a brightly-coloured screen and Iron Butterfly's 'In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida'? Tragically, it ends as all bad trips do; with Spencer finding himself trapped in a video game with a cartoon version of his dad beating him with a tennis racquet.
