12 Unwatchable Horror Movies That Wasted Great Ideas

3. Freddy Vs Jason

The Reaping
New Line Cinema

Once more, the clue is in the title with this long-awaited tortured production Freddy Vs Jason. A showdown between the most enduringly popular slasher villains of the eighties (sorry, Michael Myers, but the inside-out Shatner mask never was as iconic as the razor glove or hockey mask), this much-delayed flick wore its potential on its sleeve.

Surely most of the film would be dedicated to the pair racking up separate body counts only to face off at the dramatic close?

Sure, or the flick could be a needlessly complex mess of dramatic backstory, uninteresting teen drama, and some of the least inspired chases of horror history, not to mention a wholly unnecessary possession subplot which Freddy’s Revenge had long ago shown was a bad idea.
