12 Unwatchable Horror Movies That Wasted Great Ideas
9. The Pyramid
2014’s The Pyramid didn’t have a huge budget to work
with, but that’s no excuse for how badly this flick fumbled a fantastic and still-underexplored
(excuse the awful pun) area of horror.
Following a set of young archaeologists into the titular labyrinthine structure, the film should have been a compelling maze-based horror thriller where they’re picked off one by one as the pyramid’s many very real traps and security functions slice and dice their way through the cast. Maybe even a paranormal appearance from some of Egyptian mythology’s many terrifying monsters?
Or, you know, the poorly CGI-d villain could be Anubis, the cat god everyone learned about in school, because who needs research and invention when making a horror movie?
