12 Upcoming Movie Sequels You Definitely Didn't Need
9. Angel Has Fallen
Release: Unknown
Premise: Gerard Butler scowls a lot and survives being shot, is then shot, then survives some more.
Preceded by: London Has Fallen
When you think of the great action characters from film, Secret Service Agent Mike Banning doesn't exactly stand out from the crowd. 2013's Olympus Has Fallen itself often gets muddled up with White House Down, and both films were much of a muchness. However, where the White House has remained down, Olympus continued with this year's London Has Fallen and a lame duck repeat performance from Gerard Butler as Banning.
If you can't get enough of Aaron Eckhart as the POTUS...then you are the only one. That being said, Butler will be back for ANOTHER [BLANK] Has Fallen, presumably reuniting with Morgan Freeman in another "cool older guy" role. This one breaks out of London, so those worrying that Angel Has Fallen will be based in the city's Angel tube station, fear not. The threequel changes the formula, and it is Banning who finds himself at the centre of a terrorist plot, with someone else coming to the rescue. The good/bad news continues as Butler is also attached to produce in what is hopefully the franchise's last.
