12 Upcoming Movies That Are Destined To Be Divisive

Having made her big screen debut in the much-maligned Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman – one of the comic world’s first female superheroes – will return to cinemas next summer in the first ever female-led superhero movie from the DC Extended Universe.

Featuring Israeli actress Gal Gadot in the title role, who has already been stupidly dismissed by some comic fans as too skinny and somewhat lacking in the breast department (you know, because THAT's important), there’s already fears for the film considering the past performances of fellow female-focused comic book adaptations.

Just cast your mind back ten or so years ago to the universally panned Catwoman and Elektra – but with director Patty Jenkins at the helm (who also directed the critically acclaimed Monster starring Charlize Theron as serial killer Aileen Wuornos), Wonder Woman could be the best female-fronted film comic book film fans will see to date. Let's just hope DC and Warner Bros have learned from Batman v Superman enough.
