The third entry into the Cloverfield franchise is apparently due for release in just over a month, but Paramount still hasn't even dropped a trailer.

Whether there's another visionary viral marketing campaign set to begin imminently (as happened with 10 Cloverfield Lane) or the movie will soon be delayed, God Particle certainly sounds fascinating.

The film follows a group of scientists aboard the ISS, who witness Earth's disappearance after a scientific experiment goes wrong. Soon enough, a space shuttle appears, most likely containing at least one of the series' signature grotesque monsters.

With a cast including Daniel Brühl, Elizabeth Debicki, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Chris O'Dowd, David Oyelowo and Zhang Ziyi, it's clearly a hefty production that's sure to be more ambitious than its fairly confined, small-scale predecessor.

Though the fact that the movie finished shooting well over a year ago and still hasn't rustled up a trailer could spell production issues, it's also extremely likely that producer J.J. Abrams is simply trying to preserve the film's mysteries, whatever they are.

If it's anywhere near as good as 10 Cloverfield Lane, fans of the series could be about to experience something very special indeed.
