12. Cars 3
Pixar has produced so many high quality animated movies that the Cars franchise feels like some kind of accident. The adventures of a smug race car and his idiot friend lack the laughs and - more crucially - the heart of their other work. One movie was a strange kid friendly remake of Doc Hollywood and the other was a lame spy parody. They even did a spin-off with the Planes movies which managed to be even lamer. The movies are designed for young kids so they dont need to be really sophisticated, but people have come to expect a certain level of quality from them. Cars doesnt really fit that bill. Cars is a real pet project for Pixar head honcho John Lasseter though so Cars 3 will be racing into cinemas in 2017. If the third movie finally tells the origin story of how the cars rose up against their oppressive human masters and killed them all, than it might be worth getting excited about.
