Somebody really needs to take Vin Diesel aside and talk to him about his addiction to franchises. For a man who once bailed on 2 Fast 2 Furious and xXx 2: The Next Level hes really making up for lost time. Hes got The Fast And The Furious franchise, the Riddick movies and he tried his best to make a series out of The Last Witch Hunter too (which seems unlikely). Now he intends to go back to Xander xXx Cage a full fifteen years after he played the part. Cage was designed to be a cool alternative to Bond and was originally intended to launch a new franchise for Vin. It didnt get good reviews but it did well enough at the box office. He then left the sequel which replaced his character with one played by Ice Cube. It bombed and a hopeful franchise was dead in the water. Now Vin wants to revive it because hes presumably uncomfortable starring in something that doesnt have a number in the title. There doesnt seem to be much excitement about this news though and if there are any hardcore Xander Cage fans out there theyve kept quiet about it. The sequel would also have to undo Cages off-screen death in The Next Level, but since nobody saw that it shouldn't be a big problem.
