12 Ways Captain America: Civil War Will Be The Exact Same Movie As Batman V Superman

4. A Comic Book Villain Oddly Brought To Screen

We're yet to see Baron Zemo in any Civil War footage, but what we do know is that Daniel Brühl won't be that faithful an incarnation; he's said himself he won't be wearing the classic mask (this along with Kilgrave makes it seem like purple faces just aren't in right now). Now this may be because Helmut is just a cover for a totally different villain, but even then the double-footing means it'll be a very off-kilter adaptation of some character. That's hardly new for Marvel - many of their villains are composites of two minor characters, while The Mandarin was... well he just wasn't - although the same can be said for DC too.

Lex Luthor in Batman V Superman is a vast departure from any traditional take of the character, with Jesse Eisenberg channeling his own Mark Zuckerberg to give us a modern CEO who spouts philosophical jargon with the ferocity of Max Landis (the actual inspiration for the role). You can also make a similar case for Doomsday - he may have always been more brawn than brain, but the origins and implementation of him here are vastly different from the beast who originally killed Superman.

Of course, much of Batman V Superman's characterisation was off (Batman, guns, murder), so while in Dawn Of Justice it was lazy adaptation, with Zemo the alterations probably have a clearly purpose.
