12 Ways Captain America: Civil War Will Be The Exact Same Movie As Batman V Superman

5. A Bigger Manipulation Behind-The-Scenes

One of the most lacklustre elements of Batman V Superman (and there's a lot to choose from) was its utter mishandling of the motivations behind the central fight; Batman blamed Superman for things he only half understood and all the build up about must there be a Superman was undercut when his Ma was kidnapped. Neither hero really wanted to be there, with everything part of a puppet play by Lex Luthor.

It is admittedly hard to contrive a reason for two groups of good guys to temporarily put their similarities aside and fight, so having some third party fiddling away is a very easy shortcut. Although it still needs to be done right - the extent of Lex's meddling was vague and explanations for how he achieved it unforthcoming. Let's hope Civil War does this plot point better, because oh you can bet that's what they're doing.

Unlike Batman V Superman's, Civil War's advertising has been rather vague on it, but it's clear that Hydra, or some parallel organisation, is pitting the Avengers against each other for its own ends, with Daniel Brühl's Baron Zemo the likely string-puller.

Speaking of Zemo...
