12 Ways Captain America: Civil War Will Be The Exact Same Movie As Batman V Superman
3. TargetedHints To Bigger Threat
Warner Bros. Pictures/Marvel
In a somewhat inevitable development (given that Marvel's Thanos was a rather blatant rip-off of DC's already successful Darkseid), both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and DC Extended Universe are heading broadly in the same direction, with a group of heroes teaming up to take on a heavily-prophesied cosmic threat. The important phrase there in regards to the big superhero showdown is "heavily-prophesied"; although Darkseid and Thanos won't strike until 2017 and 2018 respectively, they've been built up well ahead of time (with the latter first seen at the end of The Avengers in 2012).
And both these movies will have hints in some form. Batman V Superman obviously had several highly pointed scenes that alluded to the arrival of the New God - predominantly the Knightmare vision and Lex's snotty ending rant - and while Civil War will probably be lighter on foreshadowing Marvel's own storyline than other Phase 3 stories (Doctor Strange, Thor: Ragnarok and Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 are much more suitable to deal with it), it'll no doubt have allusions in some form to the Infinity Stones.
