12 Ways Captain America: Civil War Will Be The Exact Same Movie As Batman V Superman
6. The Big Panel Fight Is In The Middle
Warner Bros. Pictures/Marvel
For a film called Batman V Superman, Batman V Superman spent very little of its lengthy runtime actually showing us Batman v'ing Superman. There's a lot of build-up, sure, but plenty in that first hour is tangential and the final act is another comic arc entirely, with the fight itself winding up being an eight minute sequence in the middle.
Civil War has no such title fight, but it does still have a central showdown between Team Cap and Team Iron Man, described by the Russos as the "double-spread" sequence. This is the airport fight, which has formed the backbone of the marketing's action and looks pretty damn awesome. While the nature of the conflict at this point, as well as the length and impact on the plot, is unclear (all we have is that it's reportedly longer than Dawn Of Justice's equivalent), there's one major parallel we can confirm with these bouts; where they come in the film.
Although piecing together Civil War's plot is tricky (much trickier than Avengers: Age Of Ultron) due to the lack of footage, using knowledge of the film's broad outline and conventional narrative structure, it seems that this will come around the same time in the movie at the big Bruce versus Clark skirmish.
