12 Worst Movie Spin-Offs Ever Made
2. Aliens Vs. Predator: Requiem
Paul W.S. Anderson's Alien vs. Predator turned out to be a crushing disappointment for fans that had been waiting years to see the iconic extra-terrestrials face off ever since a Xenomorph skull was glimpsed in the background of Predator 2, but the movie couldn't hold a candle to how abjectly awful the follow-up turned out to be.
Granted, Requiem was made for $20m less, but it seemed like the budget cuts had resulted in the production having to forego any sort of lighting altogether, with the vast majority of the action taking place in incomprehensible darkness.
The R-rating was intended to please the diehards, but just resulted in gore for the sake of gore whenever you could actually see it through the pitch-black cinematography and editing so haphazard it would make Michael Bay embarrassed. If both Alien and Predator hadn't found themselves impervious to reboots, Requiem would have undoubtedly killed both franchises stone dead.
