A wholly unsuitable film no matter what the occasion is, A Serbian Film is one of the most controversial horrors released in recent years and if the uproar surrounding it banned in several countries across the globe and heavily censored in the UK isnt off-putting enough, the plotline certainly will be. A semi-retired porn star takes on one last job for the money but the film hes working on quickly descends into snuff at the behest of his crazed director resulting in some of the most outrageous scenes cinemagoers have seen including, but not limited to, a woman being beheaded during sex and a man being stabbed to death through the eye with a penis. Honestly. Alongside the obvious blood and gore, A Serbian Film contains (simulated) scenes of uber-violence, rape, necrophilia and paedophilia too. Its not just unsafe Netflix and chill viewing: its not safe for life either. And now youve been warned, you cant use the excuse of thinking it was just a documentary on Balkan culture.
