13 Announced Movie Remakes Which Could Be Awesome

The Original: A not-bad, not-great adaptation of Stephen King's terrifying novel, director Mary Lambert conjures up some tough-to-shake imagery in this 1989 horror romp.
The script lurches into boring territory more often than you'd hope for from a movie about raising the dead, though, and the acting is all over the place.
The Remake: On-the-rise horror filmmakers Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer (Starry Eyes) helm this glossy re-adaptation, which despite ruining its controversial alteration of King's source material in its recent trailer - a bold choice that we suspect will pay off - looks stylish, intense and hella creepy.
Plus, with Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz and John Lithgow in the principal roles, it's certainly going to be better-acted than its predecessor.
The remake premieres at SXSW on March 17 ahead of its April 5 theatrical release, so there isn't long to wait.
