4. Mark Millar Wanted To Make A Hit-Girl Movie
Before Kick-Ass 2 hit cinemas and basically spelled the end of the franchise - as well as Jim Carrey's attraction to violent roles - Mark Millar had intended to make a Hit-Girl spin-off with The Raid director Gareth Evans:
Before Kick-Ass 2 came out, wed been talking about a Hit-Girl spin-off movie. Wed even talked to a director we had a couple of calls with Gareth Evans, who I absolutely love. Hes an amazing director. But Gareths now busy.
Evans being busy is a bit of an under-statement, and it remains to be seen whether anyone would really pay out to see Hit-Girl, even despite Chloe Moretz's performance. It just feels like the Kick-Ass sequel lost its way and forgot the reasons why the first was ever successful in the first place. That makes the failure of the spin-off even more frustrating.
