3. LEGO Batman Will Totally Mock Christopher Nolan
Given how lofty the self-made throne Christopher Nolan sits on with Warner Bros (he turned Batman from a sparkly codpiece into... well, Batman after all), it's somewhat shocking to find out that the studios are letting the LEGO Movie team seemingly take his vision down. According to Phil Lord and Christopher Miller - wrongly snubbed at the Oscars, of course - they're going to swipe at the currently popular image of Batman as the gritty, smouldering grump:
I think the movie is really exciting because its about, Can Batman be happy? Batman is the ultimate in white people problems. Hes like, oh, Im so rich and handsome, women like me and Ive got a Maclaren! Something about my parents!"
Despite the fact that Batman was always a dark creation, Nolan has been key in restoring that image (to an over-extended degree for some), and it's going to be hard not to see the LEGO tribute as anything but an affectionate roast.
