How an almost universally acclaimed film like Green Room didn't even end up breaking its budget should go down as one of the film world's greatest ever mysteries.

Green Room is the story of Pat, Sam, Reece and Tiger who make up the punk ban the Ain't Rights and who are booked in to perform a concert at a Nazi skinhead bar outside Portland. When they stumble upon a dead body in the bar's green room, they are held hostage and soon forced into a deadly stand off against the killers.

Nazis are always scary to see in their own right, however Green Room does a great job in turning what could so easily be another cliche slasher film into a masterfully constructed suspenseful game of cat and mouse. The action, when it does get ramped up, is truly brutal however, leaving the film with a good balance on the whole.

What makes the villains in Green Room so terrifying is, their brutal acts aside, their lack of empathy or apology for their beliefs. The film wins some serious points for blending the alien and unimaginable into something that is still uncomfortably real even today.
