13 Awesome Movie Sequel Pitches That Were Stupidly Scrapped

9. Twister...In 3D - Twister 3D

The Pitch: Back in 2010, Bill Paxton started talking up the idea of a Twister sequel, one which would fully embrace the boom in 3D technology that was all the rage at the time.

3D tornadoes flying in your face? Cows hurtling through the air in glorious 3D? It sounds like a pretty fun time and, honestly, one of the more shamelessly ridiculous uses of 3D in recent memory.

What Happened?: Though Paxton shopped the idea to mega-producer Kathleen Kennedy, it never seemed to pick up much traction in the industry, even though the 1996 original stormed up almost $500 million worldwide.

With Paxton's devastating passing earlier this year, any and all prospect of the film has gone up in smoke, though don't be shocked if Universal ends up rebooting the property in the future, in 3D no doubt.
