7. Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash

The Pitch: Because why have two horror icons beating the snot out of each other when you can have three? The concept of Ash turning Freddy vs. Jason into a triple threat match was first floated around shortly after the original's 2003 release, with Bruce Campbell seemingly game to join the fray.

What Happened?: Unsurprisingly, red tape is what kept this one from getting off the ground. Campbell recently stated that the lack of creative control allowed over Freddy and Jason meant that the movie would ultimately not allow anyone to make the most of a three-way fight between the characters, as they'd all need to be "protected".

Of course, that's just Campbell's assessment. Still, the movie was effectively confirmed cancelled when a six-issue comic series was instead released in 2007 and 2008.
