13 Awful Movies With 1 Awesome Scene
9. The Final Showdown - Twilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 2
The Awful Movie: Another movie that absolutely didn't need to be split into two parts, the concluding entry into the easy-to-mock Twilight franchise is a soulless exercise in scraping the bottom of the barrel.
You know the drill: laughable drama, cringe-worthy romance with eye-rolling (and potentially dangerous) messages to young women, excessive shirtlessness and probably some of the worst CGI in any $135 million film.
The Awesome Scene: A ludicrously entertaining and surprisingly violent CGI-fueled final showdown, unleashing five movies worth of repressed action in one fell swoop.
Breaking Dawn Part 2 surely holds the record for the most on-screen decapitations in a PG-13 movie, with the vampires' ice-like exterior allowing the filmmakers to get away with a lot more than they would otherwise. Hell, one character even has their head ripped clean off from the jaw upwards.
It's easily the best scene in the entire franchise, and serves the great function of giving fans an exhilarating finale even though the book doesn't actually have a final battle.
It eventually turns out this scene was a fake-out premonition, of course, and while that might sound cheap, it was a fair compromise to ensure the movie had an action-packed send-off rather than just rehashing the novel's shoulder shrug of an ending.
