13 Awkward Moments That Must Have Happened After The End Of Famous Movies

12. Ripley Realises She Killed More Than She Saved - Alien: Resurrection

20th Century Fox

The Actual Ending: With the mainstream rise of Joss Whedon, Alien: Resurrection has had a mini-resurgence as an example of him working at less than full steam. A lazy fan-fiction, it€™'s contrived with a middle act that goes nowhere and an incredibly dumb final €˜villain€™. The film does up the ante in one way; how it ends. After increasingly explosive finales (well, maybe not in Alien 3), Resurrection gives us the biggest of all - the spaceship the xenomorphs are on ploughs into the Earth itself in an almighty explosion.

The Awkward Moment: Alien: Resurrection repurposed the aim of the whole Alien saga to be Ripley attempting to get back home - ignoring that she already did that at the start of Aliens - but I somehow don'€™t think it€™ll be as rosy as the film paints it. The size of the explosion is ginormous, certainly bigger than what would have killed the dinosaurs; it's enough to certainly kill everyone within thousands of miles and permanently effect the atmosphere.

So even though the original Ripley saved us from Xenos three times and the clone€™'s just stopped them a fourth, odds are the people who she'€™s saved won'€™t be too happy more people were killed by her than the aliens. To be a fly on the wall when she realised.
