13 Awkward Moments That Must Have Happened After The End Of Famous Movies

9. It€™'s Decided Magneto Should Be Released - X-Men: The Last Stand

20th Century Fox

The Actual Ending: After the worst tactical battle ever committed to film (note for next time - the real world isn€™'t like chess) and a sloppy adaptation of one of the X-Men'€™s best storylines The Last Stand still clearly thought it would get a sequel. There€™'s a mid-credit sting where Professor X went all Source Code on a poor (vegetated) guy while the actual ending has Magneto playing chess (he€™'ll never learn) with his previously assumed-gone powers.

The Awkward Moment: Let me just get this straight. Magneto destroys the Golden Gate Bridge, commands the deaths of countless soldiers, leads to an incredibly destructive battle and is then just let go? I know he'€™s meant to have lost his abilities, but you don'€™t let a crazed gunman free when you've got his revolver do you? Maybe amongst all this mutant controversy the government of the not too distant future have introduced incredibly lax terrorism laws, but even if they are that dumb I doubt that'€™s to the extent where you just let criminals go free to play chess.

Which means in Brett Ratner€™s X-Men universe (thankfully Days Of Future Past corrected this) there is a moment when a group of official's release Magneto and tell him not to do anything naughty again.
