9. Erik Killmonger (Black Panther)

Though Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) is technically first seen during Black Panther's opening flashback sequence, his proper introduction takes place a little later, when Killmonger visits a British museum with the intent of "liberating" some Wakandan artefacts.

After expressing interest in the various trinkets, he tells a museum staffer he'll be taking the Wakandan vibranium weapon off her hands, adding the savage put-down, "How do you think your ancestors got these? You think they paid a fair price? Or did they take it, like they took everything else?"

The staffer then succumbs to a poisoned coffee as Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis) shows up to help Killmonger steal the vibranium weapon, and they make their hasty escape.

Though Killmonger is off-screen for a significant length of time after this introduction, it nevertheless perfectly sets his agenda from the outset. While his methods are unquestionably misguided, that opening zinger about Britain's cultural pillaging was just the first of several truth bombs the villain would drop throughout the movie.
