10. Black Rain
There are two significant motorbike scenes in Black Rain, one at the start and another at the end which symbolically mirrors the first. The race is brief but exciting, and is important in shaping Douglas character for the rest of the film. The second motorbike chase occurs at the end of the film, and mirrors the initial race, but with a different setting of Osaka, Japan. Douglas races against the main antagonist Sato, in a thrilling dirtbike chase along the slopes of a vineyard. Motorcycles form a major part of the imagery of the film, and act as symbols of Japan.
