13 Best Movies To Watch On St Patrick's Day

Decidedly less political than you'd probably expect a movie about a British soldier trapped behind enemy lines in 1970s Belfast to be, '71 is a finely-tuned, tripwire-tense chase thriller bolstered by a terrific performance from on-the-rise talent Jack O'Connell.

Yann Demange's outstanding direction ensures the most is made of the numerous suspense sequences, and he absolutely refuses to flinch away from the oft-shocking violence on display. Anything else would seem patently dishonest given the movie's documentary-esque shooting style.

Not the cheeriest movie you could be watching on St. Patrick's Day, but pulse-quickeningly engrossing all the same.
