11. Avengers: Endgame

If Avengers: Infinity War was the start of the apocalypse, Avengers: Endgame was how the world coped afterwards.

With Thanos snapping everyone out of existence, The Avengers spend five years realising they lost their fight until Ant-Man returns from his hiding place with a crazy plan that might save everyone (in an uncannily 12-Monkeys-style approach).

Endgame spends a remarkable amount of time with what's left of the Marvel roster stewing in their defeat. Tony Stark resigns himself to holding onto what he has left, Captain America is helping people deal with "The Snappening", while Thor wallows with his Ragnarok buddies, threatening kids on Fortnite - a terrifying future indeed.

Ant-Man, aka Scott Lang, witnesses this depressing future first-hand after escaping the quantum realm, as cities lay dilapidated, their occupants grieving the loss of their friends and family. Not exactly the utopia Thanos imagined. Even after saving the universe through some sneaky time-travel, The Avengers and friends still have to face Thanos again over the destroyed, apocalyptic Avengers compound.

In essence, Endgame is the perfect swan song to the MCU's Infinity Saga, neatly ending 11 years of storytelling.
