13 Bonkers Theories About 2015's Biggest Movies (That Surely Can't Be True)
11. Mel Gibson Will Make A Cameo Appearance - Mad Max: Fury Road
The Theory: Mel Gibson will cameo in some sort of capacity (rumours suggest as a drifter) in the latest installment of the Aussie post-apocalyptic franchise, this time starring Tom Hardy in the role previously played by Gibson himself. Why It Could Be True: Because it'd be a great nod of recognition to Gibson's fantastic work on the franchise and, while not to be unkind, it's not exactly like the man's schedule has been massively busy over the last few years, so he was probably free for filming. It'd be a fantastic way to pass the torch and any Mad Max fan worth their salt would surely get a giant kick out of it. Why It's Probably Not: Director George Miller and Mel Gibson have "confirmed" that the actor doesn't cameo in the movie, but of course, they could easily be lying to preserve the surprise. It's known that test screenings of the movie conducted last summer didn't feature a Gibson cameo, but Miller could easily be withholding the scene from these screenings to keep the secret in tact, or perhaps this is just wishful thinking...
